As part of the week’s ceremonies, the Conestoga community will also recognize those who have been chosen to receive the college’s awards for excellence.

The Mastercraft award will be presented to Justin Chan, Gerritt Hooyer, Rohullah Noory, Icaro Ryan Oliveira Souza and Lazir Pascual of the Software Engineering Technology program. The award recognizes student achievement in program-related technical skills as demonstrated at the college’s Tech Showcase.

For their winning project, the team developed TrackrFC, an innovative soccer analytics tool that brings advanced game analysis capabilities directly to coaches and teams. The accessible, user-friendly tool aims to transform the way coaches analyze games, plan strategies and communicate feedback, and make professional-grade analytics available at a fraction of the cost and complexity of existing solutions.

Devin Sisak, graduating from the School of Community Services, will receive the James W. Church Award. Named in honour of the college’s founding president, the award recognizes a graduating student for achievement in learning, concern for the dignity of the individual and making a personal contribution of benefit to society.

As a father to a son with special needs, Sisak has been inspired to work tirelessly to produce results for disabled people. Volunteering with charitable and community organizations, Sisak has made a difference in helping disabled children enjoy playtime and sports with children their own age, and has advocated to create a more inclusive and accessible community for all.

The Aubrey Hagar Distinguished Teaching Award will be presented to Kyle Christie from the School of Creative Industries.

All ceremonies will be live-streamed on CCDTV, the college’s new digital TV channel, also accessible through Roku TV. Recordings will be made available through the college’s website.

Conestoga’s alumni network is over 195,000 strong, with graduates from across the region and around the world using their knowledge and skills to launch successful careers and impact their industries and communities.
