Conestoga welcomed new and returning students to campuses and learning locations this past week for the start of the fall 2026 term, with nearly 2,000 attending Campus Welcome Day and 768 participating in the virtual Condor Welcome event.

As students begin a new academic year, a range of services, resources and opportunities are available to support their success, from preparing for the start of classes and accessing academic resources to getting involved and building connections within the Conestoga community.
"Each new term is an opportunity to welcome students into the Conestoga community and support them as they work toward their academic and career goals," said Conestoga Dean of Students, Sunand Sharma. "Whether students are joining us for the first time or returning to continue their studies, we want them to know there are people, resources and opportunities available to support them throughout their journey."
Preparing for the start of term
Student transition support begins months in advance through Start Smart webinars, helping new students prepare for classes, become familiar with Conestoga and connect with available resources and supports.
Fall Orientation Week builds on this support with online and in-person activities, including the college-wide Condor Welcome event, Campus Welcome Day and Program Orientation Sessions. Additional activities continue throughout Welcome Month.

Resources and opportunities for student success
Student Success provides students with access to resources and services designed to help them develop the skills, confidence and connections needed to reach their goals. Students who aren’t sure where to start can visit the Student Success Portal or submit an Ask For Help form to find the right service, resource or next step.
Students can also access opportunities to become involved in the campus community through Conestoga Student Inc (CSI). Clubs, events, activities and leadership opportunities provide ways for students to meet others, build connections and develop skills that can contribute to their academic, personal and professional success.
Student voices highlight the college experience
To complement the start of the semester, Conestoga will share a series of student stories, experiences and advice through the college's Instagram channel over the first several weeks of the fall term.
The series will feature current students sharing what they have learned during their time at Conestoga and advice for fellow students. Topics will include getting involved and meeting new people, staying on track academically, asking questions and becoming familiar with campus life.
The series will also highlight some of the spaces and experiences that have shaped students' time at Conestoga, providing an opportunity for new students to hear directly from their peers as they begin their own college experience.
Interactive content throughout the series will invite students to share their perspectives and questions while connecting them with relevant college services and resources.
