Conestoga’s Kitchener - Doon campus will open for activities and planned events at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 7.
In-person classes and labs at the Doon campus will resume tomorrow (October 8). However, those taking Continuing Education courses or participating in Corporate Training activities this evening at the Doon campus are asked to check eConestoga and follow the format for their class delivery this evening as communicated by their faculty earlier today.
The Doon campus closed to vehicle traffic this morning when the college learned it would be targeted for large-scale picketing activity as part of a coordinated campaign by OPSEU. The decision was made with an abundance of caution for the safety of our college community as we helped mitigate anticipated traffic disruptions in and around campus as a result. While the college tries to provide sufficient advanced warning of campus closures, it is not always possible in emergency situations. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
Throughout continued labour action, the Conestoga community is reminded to monitor the college’s website and social media channels on Facebook, X and Instagram for updates that may impact on-campus classes and delivery. It may be possible that the college needs to make last-minute decisions in the interest of safety.
