Conestoga’s women’s softball team will travel to Oshawa to participate in the Canadian Collegiate Softball Association’s National Softball Championships to be held October 9 to 11 at Durham College in Oshawa.
Conestoga College Women’s Softball team will be playing in the CCSA National Softball Championships at Durham College this month.
The association includes more than 25 Canadian universities and colleges who compete within their own leagues during the season for the opportunity to participate in the national event.
As the result of their second-place finish in last season’s OCAA provincial championships, the Condors qualified to participate in the nationals along with teams from St. Clair College, Durham College, Western University, Wilfrid Laurier University, University of Saskatchewan, University of Regina and University of Calgary.
This is the first time Conestoga has participated in the tournament.
Conestoga’s first game will be at 10:00 a.m. on October 9 against the University of Regina. The Condors will then face the University of Saskatchewan at 4:00 p.m., and Wilfrid Laurier University on Saturday, October 10 at 12:00 noon.
Additional games will be based on the results of the pool play.

The Canadian Collegiate Softball Association (CCSA) is the governing body of collegiate fastpitch softball in Canada and is responsible for the promotion, support and development of the sport.
The 2014 CCSA National Championships hosted by the University of Calgary saw the Western University Mustangs repeat as national champions. The St. Clair College Saints won silver and the University of Regina Cougars took bronze.
