Conestoga College Institute of Technology and Advanced Learning has released a new Strategic Plan that provides a framework for the college’s continued growth and development over the next three years.
The new plan, focused on the theme of Capacity, Quality and Sustainability, builds on Conestoga’s recognized strengths as a leader in polytechnic education, delivering a comprehensive range of programming to meet the needs of our diverse and growing community. It is closely aligned with the Strategic Mandate Agreement concluded with the Government of Ontario early in 2014, which positions the college to become a provincial leader in college-based degree programming as well as a pre-eminent centre for education in engineering, trades, health and community services, media and design and business.
“The importance of career-focused education to Canada’s future prosperity has never been higher,” said Conestoga President John Tibbits. “This new Strategic Plan reflects our commitment to quality education and applied research programs that are aligned with community and local labour force needs.”
Developed over 18 months through a consultative process involving college and community stakeholders, the plan outlines Conestoga’s three strategic priorities:
The plan was approved by Conestoga’s Board of Governors in June 2014. President John Tibbits hosted a series of town hall meetings throughout November to discuss the college’s vision and direction with members of the college community.
