Conestoga, University of Windsor Initiate Partnership

Beginning in the fall of 2004, Conestoga College and the University of Windsor will co-operate to offer a Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS) program.

The program will be known as the Odette School of Business BBS at Conestoga College. It will be available to graduates of Conestoga's three-year Business Administration - Accounting program, and to other students who satisfy the admission requirements specified by the BBS program and the Odette School.

The program will consist of 13 three-hour credit courses delivered over a three-semester period. The fall and winter semesters will be 13 weeks each; the spring or summer semester will be ten weeks.

The BBS program will be taught at Conestoga College in Kitchener by faculty appointed by the University of Windsor. Registration will be through the University, and successful completion of the program will result in the awarding of the Bachelor of Business Studies (Accounting) degree by the University.

A formal announcement of the Conestoga/Windsor arrangement came on November 27 at Conestoga's Doon campus, as Odette School Dean Roger Hussey and Associate Dean Diana Kao met with Conestoga President John Tibbits and Vice-President Academic David Burns.

The College and the University intend to explore the feasibility of offering additional degree-completion opportunities on-site at Conestoga in other Business Administration program areas offered by the College.
