New Conestoga students will receive a warm welcome at all nine campuses during winter 2025 orientation from January 2 to 3.
Winter orientation 2025 is being held January 2 and 3 to welcome new students at all Conestoga campuses.
The Student Engagement and Experience Team spent the last few months planning orientation events focused on creating a sense of culture, connection, capability, purpose and resourcefulness ahead of classes beginning on January 6.
“As always, it takes a village to smoothly transition our newest Condors to the Conestoga community. We appreciate everyone’s support, involvement and excitement to support this important milestone in a student’s journey,” said Amy Baird, Student Experience associate director.
“A huge shout out to our amazing student staff, orientation volunteers, faculty, support services, community partners and Student Engagement team.”
To make this orientation the best possible for new students, the team has consulted with key stakeholders and the orientation steering committee, reviewed feedback from students and college partners, and analyzed industry trends.
“We look forward to welcoming a new cohort of students for the winter term and look forward to making orientation an engaging and meaningful experience for all,” Baird said.
Academic orientation sessions are planned for January 2, followed the next day by Campus Welcome Day with giveaways, food, live music and entertainment hosted on all campuses. Students new to Conestoga can look for bright and vibrant signage on windows and floors, as well as hundreds of student leaders, ambassadors and volunteers ready to welcome and support newcomers.
A virtual event will be held to welcome international students, along with other specialized offerings to provide all the resources and support needed as they begin their life in Canada and at Conestoga, including a food security campaign.
Two days of orientation will be followed by a series of events and workshops planned throughout January to help students feel welcome and prepared.
