Conestoga has been recognized for its exemplary support of the Canadian Association of Career Educators and Employers (CACEE).
The association is a national non-profit partnership of employer recruiters and career services professionals with a mission of providing authoritative information, advice, professional development opportunities and other services to employers, career services professionals and students.
That collaboration is vital, especially in the current employment landscape that is evolving quickly.
“In a global talent economy that is emerging from the COVID pandemic and grappling with rapidly evolving technology and new ways to work, it is imperative that career educators and employers work openly and collaboratively to ensure that our students and alumni are job-ready and armed with the skills they will require to succeed in a dynamic world of work, now and over the course of their careers,” said Alice Michaud, associate director of Talent Development and Career Services at Conestoga.
Every year, the association recognizes remarkable individuals and organizations driving the field forward and elevating the professional landscape focused on the post-secondary to career transition.
Conestoga was honoured with the 2023 CACEE Educational Institution Recognition Award for showing exemplary support and contribution to CACEE at a national level. This award is nominated by national and regional boards, then voted on by the national board.
The awards were announced and celebrated at the national conference held December 4-6 in Toronto.
Conestoga’s Talent Hub graciously accepted the honour.
Located at the Kitchener - Downtown campus, it’s a one-stop virtual and in-person service and support hub for career and employment advising, co-op, and work-integrated learning. The Talent Hub assists students, alumni, and community job seekers at all stages of their career and employment journey, as well as offering various services to industry and community employers including mentorship, co-op experiences, job fairs and recruitment.
“The Talent Hub team is honored to receive this award in recognition of its support of CACEE, which strives to advance on-campus recruitment and career education by providing leadership, information, resources and a professional network for career educators and employers,” Michaud said.
“It is in working together that career educators can better prepare post-secondary students for a successful transition into their careers and employers attract, recruit and retain the right talent to grow their business.”
