The system is jointly owned by the British Council, IDP IELTS, and Cambridge University Press & Assessment and delivered through more than 4,000 locations in 140 countries. Opened 26 years ago, IELTS Conestoga was Canada’s first official testing centre.
Conestoga now administers both paper-based and computer-based testing at various Conestoga campus locations, including Brantford, Kitchener, Milton and Waterloo, in addition to various locations across Ontario, Manitoba, British Columbia and Quebec.
The IDP IELTS Awards recognize remarkable achievements and leadership of individuals and teams that have set a standard of excellence across operations, marketing, customer service and leadership. IELTS Conestoga was recognized in national, regional and global categories:

Taylor Petrie, IELTS Conestoga assistant manager, was among the more than 240 delegates from test centres around the world who attended the conference and accepted the awards on behalf of the college.
“To put it into perspective, there are thousands of test centres worldwide. It is significant recognition for our small team at Conestoga to be acknowledged on this global scale,” said Petrie. “It has set a new bar in our commitment to excellence and supporting our candidates’ journey to post-secondary education and immigration within Canada.”
IELTS assesses reading, writing, listening and speaking and is designed to reflect how individuals will use English to study or work. In Canada, the test results are accepted at universities and colleges and by professional associations that have set minimum language requirements.
IELTS Conestoga delivers the IELTS Academic test for those wanting to study at a post-secondary institution or join a professional association where English is a prerequisite, as well as IELTS General, which is used for immigration purposes.
