“Condors esports is thrilled to join Esport Canada,” said Zack Dodge, supervisor, esports operations at Conestoga. “This opportunity allows Condor esports to plant roots in the Canadian esports collegiate sector to support the development and growth across other institutions as esports find a home in our communities.”

Operating under Esport Canada, ECPS will focus on advocacy, recognition and education to provide leadership and a national voice with representation from Ontario, Quebec, the Maritimes and the West. Conestoga is among the first institutions to join the initiative, including Durham College, Fanshawe College, Georgian College, Keyano College, St. Clair College, and the University of Windsor.

Launched in 2020, Condors esports integrates collegiate esports into traditional post-secondary athletics. The program is delivered through the college’s Athletics and Recreation department. Aligning with Esport Canada contributes to further leadership, opportunity and development of esports at Conestoga.
