The following message was sent on September 7 to all Conestoga employees on behalf of President John Tibbits.
In accordance with direction provided by the Ministry of Colleges and Universities, Conestoga will require all students, employees and visitors accessing our campuses and facilities to provide proof of vaccination against COVID-19. This new guidance, released August 31, 2021, applies to all post-secondary institutions across Ontario.
The new policy takes effect on September 7, 2021, and is intended to support the continued health and safety of students, employees and community members.
Enforcement of the policy will occur in multiple phases.
Effective September 7, students residing at Conestoga's on-campus residence or participating in varsity sports as well as students in specific academic programs that require vaccination will be required to provide proof of immunization.
Additional groups may be added to this list based on changing conditions and circumstances. All individuals accessing Conestoga campuses or facilities will be required to provide proof of vaccination prior to January 1, 2022.
Proof of Vaccination can be uploaded through Conestoga’s Mobile Safety App effective immediately.
Exemptions to this policy will be limited to those who cannot be vaccinated for medical reasons, or on other grounds protected under Ontario's Human Rights Code.
