A large-scale joint project led by Conestoga’s Solution Design & Delivery, Marketing, and Corporate Communications teams, has resulted in the launch of the college’s new website. The site went live October 29 and offers an enhanced user experience built on updated technology platforms.
Featuring a cohesive, modern design and improved navigation to help visitors find the information and content most relevant to them, the site offers simpler access to program information, delivers additional campus and facility information for Conestoga’s nine locations, and invites users to explore campus services as well as the latest college news and events.
Prospective students will benefit from the new program filter that offers searches by start date, area of interest, campus, program length, credential and delivery method. To help students make informed decisions, updated program pages now deliver specific intake details based on a program’s start date and campus location. Program pages have also been linked directly to the Ontario College Application System to simplify the application process.
Exploring campus studios, laboratories and workshops has been made possible using 360-degree photography and virtual tours.
To support remote delivery and keep students and employees informed about the college’s ongoing response to the pandemic, the site also features an updated COVID-19 hub that includes academic delivery plans for the winter 2021 term, campus access guidelines, remote service delivery information and community updates.
With the increasing use of smartphones and tablets, the technology behind the site was replaced entirely to ensure consistent user experiences across all devices. The site was also built to run solely in the cloud to offer better performance, security and reliability. An updated content management system and new tools for front-end and back-end development as well as advanced monitoring, help ensure the look, functionality and overall performance of the site.
During September 2020, Conestoga’s website welcomed nearly 210,000 unique visitors from across Canada and around the world.
