The Brantford campus will be serviced by a new shuttle that will launch September 9.

“We are very pleased to launch these shuttle services so that we can enhance the campus experience for the college community as it continues to grow and expand,” said Kirsty Bradley-McMurtrie, director, Safety & Security. “The shuttles will provide safe transit between campus buildings and will also help the college reduce its carbon footprint.”

The Brantford shuttle will launch Monday, September 9 and will run a continuous loop between 50 Wellington Street, 274 Colborne and the Brantford daycare centre between 7:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

Conestoga administers select trade certificates at the Brantford Municipal Airport; the shuttle will also include stops at the airport between 8:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m., and again in the afternoon from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to serve these students.

The Waterloo shuttle launches the week of October 7 and will run a continuous loop between the south parking lot on University Avenue, the main campus, the college’s buildings on Marsland Drive and Dearborn Boulevard, as well as The Village at University Gates, which hosts Living Classrooms and on-site training for Conestoga’s personal support worker and practical nursing students.

Hours for the Waterloo shuttle will be 7:30 a.m. to 5:40 p.m.

The shuttle services are free, but passengers will be required to present their college ONE Card. Shuttles will run Monday to Friday with the exception of holidays, provide seating for 24 passengers, and riders are encouraged to visit the Conestoga Mobile Safety app for shuttle schedules and updates.

“We are looking forward to the launch of these shuttles to better serve the college community,” added Bradley-McMurtrie. “We also hope to have more details soon about an additional shuttle that will specifically serve Conestoga employees who require transit between campuses.”

Security Services will also launch a grocery shuttle for students in residence.

The college’s student union, Conestoga Students Inc., will continue to operate a shuttle that connects the Doon and Cambridge campuses as well as the student residence. It runs between 7:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. and is also free for students and employees.

Conestoga’s Safety & Security Services team works with the Conestoga community to provide a safe and secure work and learning environment, promotes partnerships with the college community and local organizations, and enhances personal safety through prevention, education and compliance.
