McDonald’s employees are now eligible to receive credits towards a Conestoga business diploma thanks to a new agreement between Colleges Ontario and McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada Limited.
The agreement, announced August 19, creates a province-wide partnership with McDonald’s Canada to establish a prior-learning recognition system. McDonald’s employees, who have completed specific on-the-job training, will be eligible to be granted the equivalent of first-year credit for the Business or Business Administration programs at Conestoga or one of the province’s other public colleges.
“This unique arrangement marks a new way of thinking about how employees can get access to further education and training without repeating learning they have already acquired,” said Colleges Ontario CEO and president Linda Franklin. “It’s the type of innovative partnership that colleges and businesses will be doing more of as Canada looks to strengthen its workforce and its economy.”
Upon completion of the McDonald's Management Development Program Level 2, successful applicants to Conestoga's Business Diploma or Business Administration - Management Advanced Diploma will be admitted at an advanced level.
