Conestoga, in partnership with the Government of Ontario, will deliver the Women in Skilled Trades General Carpentry program beginning September 14, 2015 at the Waterloo campus.
Funded by the Ontario Women’s Directorate, the program is designed for low-income women who are unemployed or underemployed and is tuition-free for eligible participants. It includes trade-specific training as well as employability and workplace preparation to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed for success in the workplace.
The 38-week program includes 28 weeks of in-class training and a 10-week work placement.
Those interested in participating must attend an information session that will provide an overview of the program as well as the application process. Sessions will be held on May 26 and June 11 from 12:00 - 1:15 p.m. in 2A01 at the Waterloo campus.
