Students in Conestoga’s School of Business and Hospitality will now have the opportunity to build their experience on the world’s largest enterprise software system as participants in a global alliance that involves more than 1,500 universities and colleges, over 17,000 professors, and hundreds of thousands of students.
SAP University Alliances is hosted by SAP SE, world leader in enterprise software and software-related services. With headquarters in Walldorf, Germany, the company has more than 66,500 employees at locations in over 130 countries.
The University Alliances program exposes students to leading SAP technologies and experts through networking and educational activities, social media and partner networking. Conestoga joined the alliance this past summer.
SAP-related content will be progressively incorporated into the college’s Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree program in International Business Management beginning in the 2014-15 academic year.
According to program coordinator Oded Tal, participation in the program will provide many benefits for Conestoga students.
“Graduates of the program will be more IT-literate and career-ready,” Tal said, “and will be better able to meet business challenges and requirements both today and in the future.”
International Business Management is a four-year, co-op degree program that prepares students to bring people, process and technology together to improve performance in domestic or international enterprises.
The four-year program includes three paid work terms and two major consulting projects as well as multiple international exchange and study opportunities. The next intake for the program will begin in September 2015.
