The Lady Condors have advanced to the OCAA Fastball championships hosted by Humber College October 18 and 19.
Wrapping the regular season with a 7-win, 8-loss record, the team has been supported by strong performances from key players. First-year student Stephanie Baril led the team with a .395 regular-season batting average. Second-year student Lauren Ruf is ranked second in regular-season league standings with a 4.27 ERA and 48 strikeouts over 62.1 innings.
Coach Ron Taylor said that the team is definitely in provincial medal contention.
"The team is really starting to come together," said Taylor. "We have been playing some really good baseball and a medal at provincials is definitely attainable."
Conestoga will take the diamond against first-place St. Clair College 3:00 PM October 18 at Wildwood Park in Mississauga.
