Two Conestoga students were among the recipients of the 2013 Student Awards presented by the Association of Registered Graphic Designers (RGD).
Post-secondary students from across Canada are eligible to compete for the awards, which recognize outstanding achievements in all areas of communications design. A jury of 50 design professionals evaluates each of the student entries and selects winners for eight Awards of Excellence and nine Awards of Specialty. Cash awards of $1,000 are presented to each recipient.
Kevin Tome, a third-year Graphic Design student at Conestoga, was honoured with the Quarry Communications Award for Western Ontario.
Loretta Ryan, a recent Conestoga graduate, was awarded both the Hagon Design Award for Western Ontario and the Shikatani Lacroix Award for Packaging.
Honourable mention also went to Katrina Densmore, Warren Jones and Morgan Rose, all Graphic Design students at Conestoga.
