Conestoga named its first ever team of Student Ambassadors recently. An ambassador is described as "the best of the best" when it comes to a Conestoga student. A Student Ambassador has several important responsibilities including leading tours, speaking to prospective students and parents and making visits to area high school to promote Conestoga.
Our ambassadors are: Aleena Aftab (Health Informatics Management), Erin Weatherhead (Practical Nursing), Linda Marques (Business Management), Jesse Michael (Marketing) and Ryan Metivier (Public Relations).
"These are exceptional students" said Conestoga's Director of Marketing Paul Osborne. "They are students looking to "make a difference" in their school and help prospective students and parents decide on Conestoga as their post-secondary school of choice.
You will be able to identify a Student Ambassador by their red jackets. If you see them leading a tour, don’t be afraid to say hello and welcome the guests to our institution.
All the research points to the fact that an engaged student is a successful student and student ambassadors are certainly engaged. To become an ambassador you must be:
- A full-time student in good standing
- Be familiar with Conestoga programs, courses and services
- Demonstrate involvement in campus leadership activities
- Exhibit professionalism, enthusiasm and an engaging personality
- Embody the spirit of Conestoga
