On Oct. 17, close to 300 students met with over 65 employers in the Rec. Centre of Conestoga's Doon campus in search of students for part-time, seasonal and graduate employment.
Going around from business to business handing out resumes can be a daunting task. That’s why Conestoga College’s on-campus job fairs are the perfect spots for employers and perspective employees to meet.
Tao Cruikshank, Student/Grad Employment Advisor at the college, said it’s much easier to meet with several employers in one spot than making cold calls or hitting the pavement in search of your dream job.
"The job fair is an excellent place to gather information on the businesses attending and to learn about the organizations goals, structure and types of employment opportunities and thus determine if this is a place you would like to work," said Cruikshank.
Overall employers found the event a success. Vector Marketing said, "The forum was very professional and the students were great." Crawford & Company commented, "We are really excited to have the program (Business Insurance) in the community and look forward to working with the school in job placements."
The next on-campus job fair will be held on March 19, 2008, registration will open in December.
