Two Conestoga technology program students have earned $1,250 scholarships from Babcock & Wilcox Canada for their academic accomplishments, demonstrated leadership and contribution to college life.
The honours are going to Michael Floyd of Kitchener and Dipu Kurian of Cambridge, both students preparing to enter their third year of mechanical engineering technology studies in the fall.
Babcock & Wilcox Canada presents two scholarships each year at Conestoga, to promote excellence and achievement in advanced technology studies aligned with its activities as Canada's largest manufacturer of fossil and nuclear steam generation systems, environmental-emissions technology and services for the electric power, pulp and paper and industrial markets.
Both Floyd and Kurian are co-operative education students. Accordingly, the company will extend to them the offer of employment for the period of their third program-related co-op education work term.
Presentation of the scholarship funds will occur in the fall, when the two winners register at Conestoga for their third year of studies.
