Saturday May 12th was Conestoga Day at St. Thomas Dragway.
Fifteen cars competed and approximately 30 members
of the Conestoga family attended (students, family, and friends) including
5 faculty members. Everyone agreed it was a great day of fun, learning
and competition!
Conestoga College Faculty members, Tom Hood and Jim Palmer did a run-off
with the College Mustang and Automotive Service Faculty member Jim Palmer
was crowned " King of the Track" while Tom Hood broke out by
.008 seconds.
The track owner, Dave Mathers and his wife Linda as well as all the officials
made the students and fans feel welcome. They were impressed by the students'
behaviour and abilities and they are looking forward to having us back
again next year.
