Try the Technology Welding Showcase in Guelph

The world of welding has far outgrown the usual stereotypes. Modern industrial welding is computerized, robotized and weldingdefinitely high-technology. Those well versed in its ways have a diverse and sophisticated set of technical skills.

Conestoga’s Guelph campus specializes in a wide array of welding programs and therefore is joining with the Canadian Welding Association (CWA) plus a number of welding machinery manufacturers and suppliers to present Try the Technology, an open house and information event from 3-7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 27.

The event is free of charge to the public. It takes place at the Guelph campus, located at 460 Speedvale Ave. W.

Along with displays and demonstrations of the latest in welding technology, the event features the opportunity to meet with Conestoga welding faculty, CWA representatives from the Golden Triangle and Toronto chapters, and manufacturer and supplier representatives.

The aim is to provide information about the many educational and career pathways available through welding, encourage discussion between visitors and practitioners, and offer hands-on demonstrations.

Among the welding programs offered by Conestoga are Welding Fitter, Pre-Apprenticeship Welder, Metal Fabricator, Welder Apprenticeship, Welding Engineering Technician and Manufacturing Engineering Technology - Welding and Robotics. Throughout the province, Conestoga is recognized as a welding education leader.
