Free pre-apprenticeship programs accepting applications

Conestoga is now accepting applications for tuition-free pre-apprenticeship programs beginning April 2020. Funded by the the Government of Ontario, the programs will prepare students for in-demand careers and provide a head start for those wishing to achieve apprenticeship certification.

The programs include multiple trade exposure with common core Level 1 apprenticeship in-class training and feature additional eight-week practical work placement experience. 

Enrolment is limited and interested candidates are required to attend an information session where program faculty will be available to answer questions and provide tours.  

The Pre-Apprenticeship Millwright and Electrical program will run full-time for 18 weeks at Conestoga’s Cambridge campus with an additional eight-week placement. Enrolment is limited to 20 spaces. Information sessions run from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Cambridge campus on the following dates:

The Pre-Apprenticeship Cabinetmaker and General Carpenter program will be offered at Conestoga’s Doon campus and runs full-time for 23 weeks with an additional eight-week placement. Enrolment is limited to 20 spaces. Information sessions run from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Woodworking Centre of Ontario at the Doon campus on the following dates:

The Pre-Apprenticeship Truck and Coach/Heavy Equipment Technician program will run full-time for 22 weeks at Conestoga’s Guelph campus with an additional eight-week placement. Enrolment is limited to 24 spaces. Information sessions run from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the Guelph campus on the following dates:
