TransformWR is Waterloo Region’s bold and collaborative strategy to become an equitable, prosperous and resilient low-carbon community by 2050.
Developed by ClimateActionWR, a partnership led by Reep Green Solutions and Sustainable Waterloo Region, the strategy was officially endorsed by all eight area municipalities in June 2021.
The plan sets a long-term goal of reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions by 80% by 2050, using 2010 levels as a baseline. It also includes an interim target of a 30% reduction by 2030.
While some progress has been made, current trends show that we are not yet on track to meet the 30 by 2030 goal.
Join Kyra Chisholm, Plan Manager, and Hasti Trivedi, Project Coordinator, to explore:
- Where our emissions are coming from
- What actions must be prioritized
- How we can work together to get back on track
