Conestoga is accepting applications for the new tuition-free Pre-Apprenticeship Industrial Try A Trade training program.
Beginning July 2, 2024, the full-time program will provide training at the Conestoga Skilled Trades Campus (Cambridge - Reuter Drive) over the course of 17 weeks, including theory and shop exposure to four trades (welding, millwright, industrial electrician and CNC machining) and featuring an eight-week practical work placement experience.
The program is tuition-free and includes tools, safety certifications, and additional financial supports for eligible participants. This pre-apprenticeship program will focus on building pathways and encourages everyone interested to apply, including those traditionally underrepresented in the skilled trades.
Enrolment is limited to 24 spaces. Interested candidates are required to attend an information session.
Additional information sessions will be held online on April 25, May 1 and May 14, in person on May 8 and May 22.
