2024 Sustainability Speaker Series: Circular Materials and Extended Producer Responsibility

January 26, 2024 | 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. | Virtual event

Students and employees are invited to this special speaking event offered as part of the 2024 Sustainability Speaker Series featuring Allen Langdon.

In 2020, new provincial legislative changes were announced to support a circular economy. A new approach to the Ontario Blue Box program will be launched over several years that will make producers responsible for managing the packaging they produce, a concept called extended producer responsibility (EPR).

Circular Materials is a national not-for-profit producer responsibility organization that helps producers meet their obligations under EPR regulations across Canada. As CEO, Allen Langdon is responsible for leading Circular Materials through the development of Ontario’s new blue box recycling system while expanding the organization’s operations into other provinces.

Following the discussion there will be an opportunity to ask questions.

This event is eligible for Co-Curricular Record (CCR) recognition.
