Across Canada, and in many other countries, people gather on November 11 to honour the courage and devotion of all the brave men and women who served and the many who sacrificed their lives fighting for freedom and democracy during the First World War, the Second World War, the Korean War, the Afghanistan conflict, and peacekeeping missions.
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the end of the Second World War. Although physical ceremonies will not be taking place on Conestoga campuses this Remembrance Day, students and community members are invited to pay tribute to our veterans and active service members by
- wearing a poppy respectfully on your left side, over your heart,
- observing a moment of silence at 11 a.m. on November 11,
- watching the Royal Canadian Legion's ceremony online, and/or
- watching the Queen’s Park Ceremony of Remembrance online.
