Interested in learning about the past, present and future of Canada’s cultural diversity? Conestoga students and employees are invited to Truth and Reconciliation.
Hosted by Conestoga's Aboriginal Services and Student Engagement, this event aims to recognize, explore and enhance culturally competent practices in order to strengthen the reconciliation process between Canada and Indigenous cultures.
The day will consist of presentations from a wide cross-section of Indigenous voices including Chiefs, academics and Conestoga students:
- 10:00 AM: Welcome/Drumming
- 10:15 AM: MC address/Opening remarks
- 11:00 AM: Chief Myeengun Henry
- 12:00 PM: Equinox celebration feast (lunch)
- 1:00 PM: Aboriginal Services student panel
- 2:00 PM: Andrew Judge, Indigenous academic
- 3:00 PM: Mi'kmaq of Newfoundland
