Hosted by Student Engagement as part of Health and Wellness Week, this informative and interactive workshop for Conestoga students will cover harm reduction, drugs and overdose prevention.
Facilitated by Violet Umanetz, Manager of Outreach with Sanguen Health Centre, students will
- examine pharmacological aspects of drugs associated with substance use,
- identify community resources for people dealing with substance use,
- gain an introductory understanding of best practices for applying principles of harm reduction,
- identify community resources and strategies for preventing overdose, and
- challenge stigma associated with mental health and addictions.
