EngSciFest 2016: Perturbations Due to Dust in Mars Orbiting Satellites

Conestoga is celebrating National Engineering Month with EngSciFest 2016, a celebration of engineering and science on campus.

Guest speaker Ionannis Haranas' work, and this seminar, deals with the calculation of the effect of atmospheric dust drag on orbiting satellites on Mars due to storms.

Speaker:

Ioannis Haranas, Team Research Associate, East Carolina University; Adjunct Professor, Wilfrid Laurier University

Ioannis Haranas earned a PhD in astrophysics and space science and a MSc in astronomy and astrophysics from York University, and a MSc in solid state physics from Brock University. He is currently involved in research and development in electromagnetic theory acting as a team research associate in the department of mathematics at East Carolina University, USA; research collaborator at University of Patras, Greece; and adjunct professor at department of physics and computer science at Wilfrid Laurier University.
