Conestoga Awards Scholarships to Degree Program Students

Twenty-three students in degree programs at Conestoga College are the recipients of more than $30,000 in entrance and academic achievement scholarships provided by a number of College and community donors. Presentation of all these honours took place on February 25.

The 29th annual Conestoga Students Inc. Polar Plunge was held on Wednesday February 3rd. While some students have been trying to stay warm this cold season, many took part in this years frigid plunge. Despite the warm temperatures of the previous week, the ponds surface was a foot thick with -8 degree temperatures leading up to the event. Each plunger made the icy walk from the college cafeteria doors (approximately 50 feet) to the pond, and jumped into six feet of water.

Conestoga Crown Ward Workshop Launches Local Post-Secondary Opportunity Initiative

On February 5, Conestoga College hosted a kick-off event at its Doon campus in Kitchener to encourage youth with Crown Ward status to explore and consider post-secondary educational opportunities. As a follow-up to this launch event, Crown Wards will participate in a series of campus visits to Wilfrid Laurier University, the University of Waterloo, the University of Guelph, and Conestoga's Waterloo and Guelph campuses.

The last of his exclusive Canadian stops, Mortenson has left Toronto and Vancouver audiences begging for more. In Vancouver alone, he signed over 4,000 copies of his book as people waited hours in line to meet him.
