Flags at half-mast

The Conestoga College flag will fly at half-mast over the next week in honour of Conestoga student Nimisha Varghese who passed away on Friday, May 12.

Nimisha began studying at Conestoga in the Health Care Administration and Service Management program at the Waterloo campus in spring 2022. She was an excellent student who held a bachelor's and master's degree in biotechnology. As a caring classmate and friend, Nimisha will be greatly missed by her many friends and family in India and Canada. Condolences are extended to those who had the pleasure to work and study alongside her.

Support is available to help our community members struggling with grief, uncertainty and stress.

Students are encouraged to connect with Conestoga’s Counselling Services team (counselling@conestogac.on.ca), who are available for in-person and remote appointments. Ontario post-secondary students also have free access to Good2Talk for immediate or after-hours support.

Employees requiring assistance have mental health and wellness supports available through the Employee and Family Assistance Plan.
