New VP and CFO named for Conestoga

Conestoga has appointed Eric Johnstone, CPA, CA to the role of Vice President & Chief Financial Officer to provide strategic business and financial leadership to the organization beginning on March 7, 2023.

Conestoga has appointed Eric Johnstone, CPA, CA to the role of Vice President & Chief Financial Officer to provide strategic business and financial leadership to the organization beginning on March 7, 2023.

Eric joins Conestoga from OCAS Application Services Inc., where he has served as Vice President, Corporate Services and Chief Financial Officer since 2020. In that role, he developed a deep understanding of Ontario’s college system and contributed to the development of tools and services to support the successful operation of the province’s colleges while providing organization-wide leadership and mentorship.    

For the past 20 years, he has worked as a key member of the management team for a number of organizations, supporting innovation and the achievement of strategic priorities through strong business and financial leadership, a service mindset, cross-functional cooperation and data-driven decision-making.   

Eric, who holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the I.H. Asper School of Business at the University of Manitoba, also served as a Regent for the University of Winnipeg, including two terms as Board Chair.

In his role as Vice President & Chief Financial Officer, Eric will be responsible for providing strategic business and financial leadership, including budgeting, financial forecasting and planning, reporting, and capital management.
