Updates for Conestoga employees following Ontario’s next phase of reopening

The following message was sent to all employees on behalf of Dean Bulloch, associate vice-president, Human Resources, on March 3, 2022.

As announced by the Ontario government, the province has moved into its next phase of reopening with the lifting of proof of vaccination requirements and capacity limits effective March 1.  Below are some key updates at Conestoga following this announcement and as we prepare for our full return across our campuses on March 7.

Vaccination Policy

To provide certainty to students, faculty and staff, Conestoga and Ontario’s other public colleges will maintain current COVID-19 vaccination policies until at least the end of the Winter 2022 semester. For the latest information and updates, please visit the COVID-19 Information hub on the Conestoga website or contact covid19questions@conestogac.on.ca

We also encourage anyone who is eligible to get a booster shot of the vaccine as soon as possible.  Visit the provincial booking system or select pharmacies for information.

Masking Requirements

Students, employees, and visitors accessing Conestoga campuses and sites will be required to wear college-issued face masks while on campus. Three-layered, disposable, medical-type masks will be issued at college entry points: individuals may request an extra mask if desired.  Individuals may wear a personal mask underneath the college-issued mask if desired, unless the personal mask impedes the function or effectiveness of the college-issued mask. In that instance, individuals will be asked to remove their personal mask while on campus and replace it with the college-issued mask.

Daily Screening Requirement (Campus Check-in)

Anyone accessing Conestoga campuses or sites needs to complete the COVID-19 screening questions through the Mobile Safety App each day they visit.  It is recommended the screening questions are completed prior to entering the college at the security check-in point.

Dining and Food Services

You are to wear a mask in these spaces except when you are seated to eat or drink.

Employees Working in Shared Spaces

Frequent handwashing and sanitization remain expected behaviours across all our campus locations. Although our locations have been enhanced with air filtration systems, please respect others, allowing as much distance as possible until you establish a mutual understanding of comfort.

We want to sincerely thank you for your understanding and patience throughout the many changes that have been required of us during this pandemic.
