Message to all employees regarding on-campus parking

The following message was sent to all employees on behalf of Jacinda Reitsma, vice-president, Finance and Corporate Services, on February 7, 2022.

In preparation for our full return to campus, the regulation and enforcement of on-campus parking will resume effective March 7, 2022. In response to the continued emphasis on hybrid delivery, the college is introducing additional parking options for those who are not required to be on-site daily. In recognition of the transitional nature of the upcoming term, reduced parking rates have been introduced for Winter 2022 only.

Parking Services web page, including permit and rate structure, is up to date for questions related to types of permits and reduced parking rates.

Parking permits for the Winter 2022 semester will be available for purchase online beginning Monday, February 14, 2022, for employees.

You will be required to visit the Parking Services webpage, select the Parking Portal button, and log in with your Conestoga network ID. You will be asked to provide and confirm vehicle and licence plate information to complete the purchase of your semester or monthly permit. Payment through payroll deduction will continue to be an option.

Parking permits will be available for students to purchase beginning Monday, February 21, 2022.

Changes to note:

  • Physical permits will no longer be issued. The vehicle and licence plate information registered with Parking Services will be used for parking enforcement. You can register up to two vehicles to be associated with your permit.
  • Parking permits purchased for the Doon campus can be used in all parking lots formerly designated as blue, orange, or white. Permits will no longer be designated to specific lots: parking will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • During this time of transition, annual passes are not available. Additional communication will be provided prior to the start of the 2022 spring semester.
  • Your Winter 2022 parking permit will be valid at all Conestoga campuses, with the exception of the Downtown Kitchener (DTK) campus.

Hourly and daily parking passes are available through HonkMobile for those who will be spending a limited amount of time on campus. You may choose to purchase a bundle of daily parking passes, called a Multi-pass, which will provide 10 days of parking at a reduced rate to the standard daily pass to be redeemed as you require parking. More information about the Multi-pass can be found on the Parking Services web page.

Parking regulations will be in effect at all campuses from 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.

 Employee FAQ

Will employees receive advance opportunity to purchase Parking Permits?

Parking permits will be made available for employee purchase on Monday, February 14, 2022, before opening permit sales to the broader Conestoga community on Monday, February 21, 2022.

How can I determine what lots I should be parking in?

A map of each campus can be found here. Maps include information about parking lot locations and building entrances to help you plan your route to the entry doors of each campus.

If you are working at the Downtown Kitchener campus, please contact Parking Services (parking@conestogac.on.ca) for additional information.

If I purchase a permit for a specific campus, can it also be used to park at another campus?

For the Winter 2022 term only, the permit purchased at your designated campus can be utilized to park at another campus as required, with the exception of the DTK campus.  Due to specific parking restrictions at our DTK campus, only employees with DTK as a designated campus will be eligible for a permit.  Employees with needs for parking at the DTK campus can connect directly with parking@conestoga.on.ca for all options available.

Will I be required to pick up a physical permit?

The college will no longer be distributing physical permits. Parking permits will be virtual. Vehicle and licence plate registration will occur during the process of purchasing your parking permit. This information will be utilized by Security Services to complete enforcement of the parking lots.

Can I register more than 1 vehicle for my parking permit?

You may register up to 2 vehicles to be associated with your parking permit.

I have a provincial Accessibility Parking Permit. Is there accessible parking available on campus?  Am I required to purchase a parking permit?

Accessible parking spaces are designated at each campus with a pavement decal and signage. Please purchase a parking permit for your campus and ensure your provincial Parking Permit is visible once you are parked in an accessible spot.

What if I experience challenges logging in or utilizing the portal?

Please contact parking@conestogac.on.ca. Including a screenshot or detailed description of the issues you are experiencing will help us to support you in resolving any challenges you may encounter.

What is my next step if I receive a parking ticket while parking on campus?

Information about parking tickets can be found on the Parking Services webpage. Please contact parkingenforcement@conestogac.on.ca if you have specific questions.

What information will be available to students?
