Update on return-to-campus plans for Winter 2022

Conestoga looks forward to welcoming more students back to in-person, on-campus learning as Ontario begins the process of gradually easing public health restrictions enacted early in January to blunt transmission of the Omicron variant of COVID-19.

To reduce the number of people on campus and help limit the pressure on strained community and health system resources for the next few weeks, the college will continue a phased approach to return-to-campus. Students already learning on-campus will continue. Essential in-person learning activities will resume for additional programs on January 31, with more programs returning to campus for in-person learning on February 7. It is anticipated that all programs designated as on-campus or hybrid will include in-person learning experiences by March 7.

Details of the revised academic delivery plans will be posted online the week of January 24. Program areas will communicate directly with students and employees to confirm revised return-to-campus dates.

The safety and well-being of our college community remains Conestoga’s highest priority. All students, employees and visitors are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and to wear college-issued, three-layered, disposable masks while on college campuses. Enhanced infection prevention and control measures in place on all campuses provide additional layers of protection as we return to more in-person learning and working over the next few weeks.

Employees and students can continue to park on campus without a parking pass until March 7, 2022. Additional information regarding the issuance and purchase of parking passes will be provided in the upcoming weeks.

Since July 2020, Conestoga has welcomed close to 30,000 students back to campus to participate in essential, in-person learning activities. There has been no evidence to date of any COVID-19 transmission on our college campuses.

Conestoga continues to work closely with local and provincial public health authorities and Ontario’s Ministry of Colleges and Universities as we prepare for a full return to on-campus learning and working in Winter 2022.
