Applications open for competitive esports teams

Student applications are open for the 2021-22 Conestoga Condors competitive esports season in the Ontario Post-Secondary Esports (OPSE) league.

Led by experienced student leaders, four teams will compete this season against players from colleges and universities across the province. This year’s lineup will include returning titles Rocket League, Overwatch and League of Legends, and will also see the addition of Valorant.

Applications are open until September 3 and tryouts take place September 7-10. The season will run from October to February, with playoffs in March. Scholarship money totalling $30,000 will be available to teams finishing the season in first place.

Interested players are encouraged to apply online as well as join the Condors esports Discord community.

Launched in 2020, the OPSE league integrates collegiate esports into traditional post-secondary athletics. The program at Conestoga is delivered through the college’s Athletics and Recreation department.
