On June 28, the College Employer Council (CEC) representing Ontario's 24 colleges announced that it had reached a tentative agreement with CAAT-part-time support staff.
According to the CEC, details of the tentative agreement will not be released until OPSEU members in part-time college support roles have had an opportunity to review it. The date of the ratification vote is expected to be announced soon.
"The CEC is optimistic that by bargaining with the theme ‘a future together’, we can continue to foster and grow a positive employer-employee relationship that puts students' needs first," said CEC CEO Graham Lloyd in a news release. "The fact that both bargaining teams were able to reach a tentative agreement after only 12 hours at the table shows the collective dedication to creating a positive working relationship at the colleges."
