Flags at half-mast on April 28

Flags at all Conestoga campuses will fly at half-mast today in recognition of the National Day of Mourning for Persons Killed or Injured in the Workplace (Workers’ Mourning Day).

Marked annually, the National Day of Mourning honours lives lost or injured due to a workplace tragedy and collectively renews commitments to improve health and safety in the workplace and prevent further injuries, illnesses and deaths.

Established by the Canadian Labour Congress in 1984, the National Day of Mourning coincides with the anniversary of the day the first Ontario Worker's Compensation Act was approved by government in 1914.
