Impact of Ontario shutdown on Winter 2021 start-up

On December 21, Ontario Premier Doug Ford announced a province-wide shutdown to arrest the spread of COVID-19. The shutdown will take effect as of 12:01 a.m. on Saturday, December 26, 2020 and be re-evaluated in Southern Ontario after an initial period of 28 days.

Conestoga supports the government’s efforts to minimize transmission of the virus and enact these extraordinary measures to protect the health and safety of all Ontarians.

Conestoga’s Winter 2021 term will begin as scheduled, with most classes starting on January 18. Programs and courses that are delivered remotely will be unaffected by the provincial lockdown.

Students in programs and courses that include on-campus labs, studios and shops will receive more details from their program areas regarding any scheduling changes resulting from Ontario’s lockdown provisions.

Employees will continue to work remotely to the greatest extent possible, with on-campus work restricted to essential activities only.
