Applications open for agricultural equipment training

Conestoga is now accepting applications for the new Agricultural Equipment Operation program. Funded in part by the federal and provincial governments, the pilot program will prepare students for a broad cross-section of opportunities to support the agricultural industry.

The program will run full-time for 16 weeks beginning January 2021 at Conestoga’s Brantford Airport site and includes hands-on experience in performing basic machine maintenance and operation of various pieces of agricultural equipment to support cash crop farms, orchards, beef, dairy and poultry operations, as well as custom farming businesses. Practical experience will be complemented with related theory in addition to math, communications, safety and welding courses.

The Agricultural Equipment Operation program was developed in collaboration with County of Brant Economic Development and Tourism, South Central Ontario Region Economic Development Corporation and Workforce Planning Board of Grand Erie.
