The following message was distributed to Conestoga students on May 12.
Thank you for choosing Conestoga. We are looking forward to welcoming all new and returning students in September for the Fall 2020 semester.
I’m sure you are wondering what the fall semester will look like from a learning perspective. Will it all be remote learning? Will we be back in the classrooms and labs? Will it be a combination of both?
At this point, there is still some uncertainty, and we’ll provide more updates as soon as we can. But whether you will be attending on campus, studying remotely, a combination of both or hybrid, we are ready to welcome you in September.
You can be confident in the knowledge that you will receive an excellent educational experience from our professors and all those who will offer educational supports.
It is our intent to start a gradual return to campus for select programs this fall. We expect that many courses will continue to be delivered remotely. However, for those courses where on-campus, face-to-face learning is essential, our labs, shops, and studios will be open. These critical components will be scheduled so you know when and where to attend. We will work within public health guidelines to protect the safety and well-being of both students and employees. This means that physical distancing, diligent hand hygiene and infection control measures, as well as staggered scheduling, will be part of our phased, re-opening plan.
Whether you will be learning on-campus or remotely, Conestoga will continue to deliver the services you need for success, including tutoring, technology support, library, co-op services and more. You will have access to a team of counsellors and medical practitioners and a range of wellness programs to support your well-being. These services will be available to you when and where you need them.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Conestoga’s students, employees and community partners have rallied to support each other and forge new paths to success. We’re all looking forward to the fall semester and helping you realize your next step towards an exciting career.
