Emergency relief for students in need

As the global COVID-19 pandemic continues, Conestoga students have expressed additional financial need. Many have lost employment income as local businesses scale back or close to support social distancing requirements.

A number of initiatives have been established to help alleviate students’ financial stress at this difficult time, including a grocery gift card program to support students experiencing financial hardship. The program is co-funded by the college and Conestoga Students Inc.

Conestoga has also provided funds to support a new COVID-19 Student Relief Bursary that will provide assistance to both domestic and international students with demonstrated financial need.

Bursaries will be awarded on an individual basis upon consideration of expenses, income, academic status and personal circumstances. Complete the online application to apply.

This new bursary augments existing bursary funds available through Student Financial Services. For more information, contact Covid19bursary@conestogac.on.ca

In addition to providing emergency financial assistance, Conestoga is providing a range of services to support student success during this difficult time, including virtual and remote advising sessions as well as laptop loans for those who require computer hardware to complete academic work from home.
