College flags at half-mast

The college flag will be flown at half-mast at Conestoga's campuses beginning today in honour of student Robert (Rob) Martin of Durham, who passed away suddenly at the Guelph General Hospital on Sunday, October 7 in his 50th year.

Rob was a Level 3 Day Release student in the Automotive Service Technician apprenticeship program at Conestoga's Guelph campus and previously completed the Truck and Coach Technician apprenticeship program through the college.

A memorial service celebrating Rob’s life will be held at the Durham Community Centre, 451 Saddler Street West, Durham on Saturday, October 13 at 2 p.m., with visitation prior to the service from 12:30 - 1:45 p.m.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Durham Food Bank would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the McCulloch-Watson Funeral Home, Durham.
