Conestoga designated as Ontario Fire College Regional Training Centre

Collaboration between Conestoga College and Waterloo Region results in Conestoga’s designation as an Ontario Fire College Regional Training Centre for fire and emergency services

Conestoga College has entered into a partnership with the Ontario Fire College (OFC) to become a Regional Training Centre (RTC) for fire and emergency services. Regional training centres are established by the province to facilitate delivery of OFC courses to fire service personnel in locations across Ontario. This newest RTC will be based at the Waterloo Region Emergency Services Training and Research Complex (WRESTRC).

Currently, Conestoga is one of three post-secondary institutions serving as an OFC Regional Training Centre. The new Conestoga College Regional Training Centre at WRESTRC will deliver a range of Ontario Fire College courses in response to the needs of fire services from the region and across the province.

This shared achievement is the result of collaborative planning involving Conestoga, the Region of Waterloo, the Ontario Fire College, and local area fire services.

Initial course delivery is planned for the winter of 2016.
