“I am honoured to be appointed as Chair of the Board of Governors for Conestoga, one of Canada’s leaders in polytechnic education,” Benninger said. “The college’s commitment to excellence in the delivery of career-focused programming and applied research has made a tremendous impact on workforce development and the prosperity of our community. I look forward to working with the board and the executive team to continue to build on that strong legacy.”

Benninger replaces Frank Boutzis, Partner in Charge, GTA Enterprise at KPMG, who completed his six-year term on the Board in August 2016. Boutzis served as Board Chair from 2012 through 2016.

“We look forward to working with Peter as the new Board of Governors Chair,” said Conestoga President John Tibbits. “His vision, business expertise and longstanding commitment to serving the local community will help guide our efforts as we grow and evolve to meet changing workforce needs and promote economic prosperity across our region and beyond.”

Conestoga is a leader in polytechnic education, delivering career-focused education, training and applied research to prepare students for success in the new knowledge economy and promote economic prosperity throughout our region and across Ontario.
