First-year student wins back tuition

First-year Pre-Health Sciences student Mike Stockall was the lucky winner of Conestoga’s tuition draw. All students who paid their fees by the due date using the college’s web banking payment option were eligible to win.

Pre-Health Sciences student Mike Stockall couldn't believe he won Conestoga's tuition draw; he'll use the money to pay for fees next term.

Stockall paid his fees without realizing he entered the draw, so his win came as a real surprise. “I was about to go into a math quiz when I got the call, so my mind was focussed on that. I couldn’t help but think there was a catch when I found out I won.”

His doubt quickly turned to excitement after speaking with the Registrar’s office to confirm the news.

“Paying through online banking is simple and saves waiting in line-ups during the busiest time of year,” said Paul Osborne, associate vice president of marketing, enrolment management, athletics and registrar. ”We are so happy to have Mike win this tuition back by paying online and on time.”

Avoiding lines was Stockall’s motivation for using Conestoga’s web banking payment option. “It was super easy to use. I actually encouraged my friends to pay their fees the same way because it was fast and I avoided making an extra trip to the college to pay in person.”

Stockall worked hard throughout the summer to earn his tuition payment and is grateful to have the money returned. He plans to hold on to it and use it for his fees next term.

The Registrar’s Office is located at Conestoga’s Doon campus in the Welcome Centre and is available to help with questions regarding: admissions, student records, fees, registration, financial aid and student awards.
