Conestoga issues its first ONE Card

Incoming students attending orientation at the Cambridge campus on August 24 were among the first to receive Conestoga’s new ONE Card. The card offers an all-in solution to student identification, serving both as college ID and as a convenience card for services on and off campus.

Business Administration Marketing student Elysa Ducut received the very first ONE Card during orientation at Cambridge Campus on August 24, 2015.

“It looks really nice; I like the design of it and the use of the condor,” said Elysa Ducut, Business Administration-Marketing student after receiving the very first ONE Card to be put into circulation. “This is an upgrade from our previous ID and I like that it’s a one-stop card. I can use it for CSI and the library.”

This fall students will also be able to use their ONE Card at the Athletics and Recreation Centre, to access printing services throughout campus and to receive discounts and rewards with off-campus vendors. In the future it is expected the ONE Card will also be used to register for campus events and activities and to pay for various purchases on and off campus.

ONE Card manager Andrea Stevenson said feedback about the new card has been positive, noting that its design has been very popular. In addition to being useful, Stevenson also said the ONE Card helps build a sense of community.

Incoming students will receive their ONE Card during orientation activities and returning students are advised to upload their photo online through the student portal before picking it up on campus.
