Students achieve Global Citizenship

Ahmed Darwish, Jacquelyn Lowry, Jessy Stark and Hailey Vezza, students from Conestoga’s International Business Management degree program, will be presented with Global Citizenship Certificates after successfully completing the core requirements of a new program designed to help students broaden their perspectives while expanding their global networks.

The Global Citizenship Certificate is one of a number of initiatives supported through Scotiabank and Conestoga’s Centre for Entrepreneurship to help young entrepreneurs launch and manage successful businesses here in Canada and around the world.

It is presented to students who successfully complete three core requirements: International Education through a Global Studies course or a degree- level course in a second language, International Experience of paid or unpaid work outside of Canada and Cultural Awareness through student life, student mentorship, volunteer and community engagement.

Each year up to three students may qualify for a Global Citizenship Award sponsored by Scotiabank. The awards are valued at $3,000. More information about the award is available through Student Financial Services.
